Grandmother Wins Lottery Millions
Yesterday we told you about a couple of football fans who landed a quarter share of the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 19 June, and today we can reveal the identity of one of the other lottery winners from the same game. Angela Brown is a 55 year old grandmother who lives in Driffield and she won her £2,033,705 share of the spoils with the same numbers that she always plays – 34, 37, 39, 41, 42 and 47. Like any true fan of National Lottery games, Angela plans to continue playing Lotto and will even be sticking with the same numbers. Whether she will manage to land another big prize by taking that approach remains to be seen, but in the meantime Angela can while away the months spending the millions that she has already won…
Angela was taking care of her grandson, who was just a few months old at the time, when her husband Colin saw her numbers come up one by one. “Our grandson was staying with us that evening so I was busy feeding him and getting him ready for bed whilst Colin watched the end of the show,” she explained. “He told me that I had one number, then two and that I might have won £10, and then another number came up and we realised I had all six numbers. I thought I had to have the bonus ball as well to win the jackpot but Colin told me I didn’t and we just couldn’t believe it.”
Colin, who is 57 years old and runs his own business as a painter and decorator, described what happened next. “Once we found out we called our daughters who couldn’t believe it either,” he said. He then added that the couple had kept the winning ticket “under lock and key” until a representative from the lottery organisers paid a visit to take them through the official claims process.
Angela is naturally delighted about the win, and for several specific reasons. “This win will allow Colin to retire and spend more time with our daughters and grandson,” she said. “We’re going on holiday in the near future, which we already had booked but we can make it extra special and really celebrate when we get there. We are also having an extension and conservatory done on the house so the money will help with that and we can help our daughter to buy a house close to us.”
We congratulate Angela on her win and remind readers that there is a £2.4 million jackpot to play for this Wednesday 23 June as well as a £12 million jackpot in the EuroMillions game on Friday. Buy lottery tickets online for whichever games you fancy and good luck!

Bonus Ball Win for Post Office Worker
![]()
A Lancashire post office worker is planning to take his family on a well deserved holiday after landing a Lotto Bonus Ball win worth £82,573 on Saturday 19 February. Darren Archer, who lives in Morecambe with his wife Ellen and their three children Natalie, Stephanie and Jake, bought a Lucky Dip ticket from his local Bargain Booze star, and ended up getting a much bigger bargain than he anticipated! What makes this story even more newsworthy is that Darren and his wife only play the Lotto occasionally, though they may now choose to play more often!
The lottery results for the Lotto game on Saturday 19 February were 06, 16, 26, 32, 34 and 46, and the Bonus Ball was 33. Nobody won the jackpot in that game, but Darren (as well as 17 other players) matched five of the main numbers and the Bonus Ball to secure his second-tier prize of £82,573.
Darren discovered that he had won when he checked his numbers the day after the draw. Like most lottery winners, his immediate instinct was to celebrate, but because Ellen was working until 3pm on Sunday, he had to wait for a while before he could start celebrating properly.
“I didn’t know what to do with myself when I realised we had won,” Darren explained. “My wife is a senior carer and was in work until 3pm, so I had to wait until she got home before we could pop to the local pub for a couple of celebratory drinks.”
Even after celebrating the Bonus Ball win, it is still taking some getting used to. “It all feels very surreal and the fact we have won is still sinking in,” Darren said. “The first thing we will spend the money on is a family holiday as we have never been away together before. We have not decided where we will go as yet but it is going to be special. It is something we have been wanting to do for a long time.”
We congratulate Darren and his family on their win, and wish them continued success in the future. The Lotto game this Wednesday 2 February will offer a rollover jackpot of around £7.2 million, and the EuroMillions game will boast a triple rollover jackpot of around £51 million, so click here to buy tickets and good luck!

Double Rollover on Wednesday
This week could be one of the most exciting on record for National Lottery players, because not only is there a €147.5 million SuperEnalotto jackpot to play for on Tuesday 28 September and a €100 million EuroMillions Mega Jackpot on Friday 1 October, there is also a Lotto double rollover sandwiched between the two! The Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 29 September will be worth around £10.2 million, so if you fancy your chances of becoming a multimillionaire (and most lottery players do) you will definitely want to buy yourself a few extra lottery tickets this week.
The lottery results for the Lotto draw last Saturday 25 September were 19, 22, 30, 33, 35 and 39, and the Bonus Ball was 05. Obviously nobody won the jackpot (or it wouldn’t be a double rollover draw this Wednesday) but eight players did match five of the six main numbers and the Bonus Ball to land a sizeable second tier prize of £196,122 each. Another 391 players matched five main numbers only to win £2,507 each, and over 495,000 prizes of £10 or £92 were won by players matching three or four main numbers, respectively.
The odds of winning a Lotto jackpot are a very reasonable 1 in 13,983,816, so double rollovers aren’t nearly as common as they are in games like EuroMillions or SuperEnalotto. At the same time, the odds of winning any prize at all are an impressive 1 in 54, which means that buying several tickets to increase your odds of winning the jackpot also gives you a much better chance of winning a consolation prize. And of course, if you buy several tickets that have a few numbers in common then you could win several times over if those common numbers happen to be drawn.
With a £10.2 million double rollover jackpot on offer this Wednesday, many lottery players will be seeking inspiration concerning the numbers that they choose to enter. Lottery statistics are useful in this respect, and we can tell you that the Lotto numbers which are currently most overdue to make an appearance are 23, 44, 11, 37, 38 and 45. Will any of those numbers help someone to land the double rollover jackpot this Wednesday? The only way to find out is to wait and see, so buy lottery tickets online today and good luck!

SuperEnlotto Continues to Soar
At the beginning of October we brought you news that the jackpot in Italy’s SuperEnalotto game had reached the point where a brand new record would be set just as soon as someone managed to match the six main numbers required to win it. We can now tell you that the jackpot has continued to roll over since then, and that the jackpot for the next SuperEnalotto draw this Tuesday 26 October will be worth a staggering €173.4 million. That figure is almost €20 million higher than it was three weeks ago, and €25.6 million more than the existing record jackpot of €147.8 million.
The previous SuperEnalotto record was set in August 2009, and the odds of someone matching the six numbers needed to smash that record this week (or at any other time, come to that) are 1 in 622,614,630, because the range of numbers that can be chosen from is 1 to 90. Whilst those odds are extremely lengthy (they make EuroMillions jackpot odds of 1 in 76,275,360 and Lotto jackpot odds of 1 in 13,983,816 look positively straightforward) consolation prizes for players who match five numbers (with or without the Jolly bonus number), four numbers and three numbers are also paid out, so you don’t necessarily need to win the jackpot to make a profit.
Of course, if you did win the SuperEnalotto jackpot outright (without having to share it with any other winners) then you would immediately enjoy the kind of wealth that even most lottery jackpot winners can only dream about. The recent EuroMillions Mega Jackpot rollover win of £113 million set a new record for the biggest National Lottery win in the UK, and although SuperEnalotto is not a British game, winning €173.4 million would still put you on the map in no uncertain terms!
What one would do with €173.4 million is an entirely different question. For most people, a £2.4 million midweek Lotto jackpot would be enough for them to live their dreams, and a standard £13 million EuroMillions jackpot would allow them to do even more. €173.4 million would put the winner in a completely different ball park, and make the wealth of many celebrities look paltry by comparison.
There are three SuperEnalotto draws every week, and those take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Buy lottery tickets online right here and if the jackpot is landed you could well be the one with your name in lights, and you would certainly light up the eyes of your bank manager! Good luck – or should we say buona fortuna!

HolidayTicket Wins EuroMillions
A lottery ticket bought on holiday resulted in a couple from Manchester winning a EuroMillions jackpot worth £12.4 million on Friday 11 June. Sharon and Nigel Mather purchased the lucky ticket whilst on a break in Minehead – a break that Sharon ’s father had given the couple so that they could enjoy some time away with their two children, Rhys and Lewis. However, it wasn’t until the couple returned to their home in Sale that they checked the lottery results and discovered that, whilst their holiday had ended, their new lives as multi-millionaires had just begun!
“We were delighted when my dad offered to pay for us to have a week away with the children,” Sharon said. “Unfortunately, he hasn’t been well recently and we had to cut the holiday short to come back and see him in hospital. He is now recovering well and we were thrilled to be able to tell him that, thanks to his generosity, he has given us an amazing gift. We will be making sure we return the favour, as our lucky win was all thanks to him.”
Sharon works for Trafford Council as an Information Service Officer and is only just getting used to being back at work after taking maternity leave (Lewis is now 1 and Rhys is 4). Nigel manages Menzies Pinewood Hotel in Manchester and usually works on Christmas Day every year. The EuroMillions jackpot win, which was worth £12,408,000, means that the lottery winners can now spend more time with the children.
“I really missed Rhys and Lewis as soon as I went back to work, so I am delighted that I am now able to stay at home and spend as much time with them as possible,” Sharon said. And then, thinking ahead to Christmas 2010, she added, “Hopefully we can spend Christmas Day this year somewhere hot like Dubai or Barbados . More importantly we will be spending it as a family”.
The next EuroMillions game this Friday 18 June will give players their own chance to win jackpot of around £12 million as well as a Millionaire Raffle prize worth £1 million. Buy lottery tickets online and you too could soon be spending some quality time in the exotic location of your choice!

National Lottery Milllionaire Milestone
The 2,500th National Lottery player to become a millionaire has been named as Annette Brown, a retired lunch lady from Borrowstounness (often known as Bo’ness) in Falkirk, Scotland. Annette, who is 77 years of age, achieved her status as the milestone winner by landing a share of the Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 13 October. The jackpot on that day was worth £2,302,992, but two tickets matched all six main numbers, so the two jackpot winners each received £1,151,496. The lottery results for the draw that made Annette the 2,500th National Lottery millionaire were 18, 19, 24, 26, 27 and 44, and the Bonus Ball (not required for the jackpot) was number 08.
Annette discovered her win the day after the draw when she visited her local newsagent and checked her numbers. “I was anxious to get the tickets out of my purse and into the bin so when the shop assistant told me to come through the back I was completely taken aback,” Annette explained. “Then she showed me the slip telling me how much I’d won. I was in so much shock that the kind shop assistant had to drive me home. She even had to tell my daughter what had happened – I was speechless.”
Annette has two daughters, two sons and seven grandchildren, and she intends to use some of her winnings to buy treats all round. Of course, she intends to treat herself as well…
“I haven’t decided exactly what I’m doing with the money yet but will certainly be taking a trip to Canada to see my relatives,” she said. “I’ve already been ten times but this time I can travel in real luxury.”
Annett continued: “At least two of my grandchildren are nearing 17 so I know they’ll be after a new car and I’m sure I’ll have plenty of requests from the others too.”
Now that Annette has been declared the 2,500th National Lottery millionaire the next big milestone will be the 3,000th millionaire. Of course, becoming a millionaire by winning a lottery jackpot is well worth celebrating no matter how many people have achieved the same thing before you, so our advice would be to have a go at becoming the next big winner as soon as possible.

EuroMillions Jackpot for Grimsby Couple
A couple from Grimsby proved that you don’t need to have been playing lottery games for years to win a jackpot when their EuroMillions ticket matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars on Friday 4 February. There were five jackpot-winning tickets for that particular draw, but because it was a rollover jackpot worth £24,368,199, the ticket owned by Susan and Lee Mullen still had a value of £4,873,639, which isn’t at all bad considering they had only been playing the EuroMillions and Lotto games for six weeks. Now the couple, who have six children, are looking forward to a lifetime of financial security.
Susan discovered their win when she checked the EuroMillions lottery results online on the morning of Saturday 5 February. The results for Friday 4 February were 02, 11, 24, 35 and 47, and the Lucky Star numbers were 5 and 9.
“I booted it up to check the numbers and thought… hang on a minute, my ticket looks exactly the same as that!” Susan explained. “I dragged my husband out of the bathroom to take a look and then I dragged my eldest son out of bed too! We just couldn’t believe it!”
Susan is unable to work because of a disability, and Lee was discharged from the Royal Navy on medical grounds in 1998, so financial security has been a concern for some time – especially with the recent recession hitting people hard. That makes this EuroMillions jackpot win even more life-changing.
“This money means everything to me and my family,” Susan said. “My husband and I are both unable to work so money has always been tight and there have been some difficult times. Six weeks ago I decided to start playing the lottery again. Don’t ask me why, I was just sure we would win.”
This inexplicable confidence has paid off massively, and we congratulate Susan and Lee on their life-changing EuroMillions win. Coincidentally, the EuroMillions game has another £25 million rollover jackpot up for grabs this Friday 18 February, so if you fancy having a go at landing it, click here to buy your tickets online. Good luck!

Lotto Jackpot for Family Syndicate
A lottery syndicate of three members from the same family is celebrating after winning a half-share of the £13,444,188 Lotto rollover jackpot on Saturday 23 October. Mark Holmes, who is 28 and lives in South Yorkshire, has played the lottery with his brother Ian and his father Les for twelve years. The trio play the same numbers every week, and the lottery results that gave them the monster win that they have always wanted were 02, 03, 14, 29, 35 and 42 (the Bonus Ball wasn’t needed, but it was number 12 for those who like such details). Mark found out about the win on the night of the draw thanks to a phone call from his brother…
“We religiously play the same numbers which we chose at the start, but we never thought we would land the jackpot!” Mark explained. “On Saturday night, me and my girlfriend Holly were watching X Factor at our house and after a phone call from my brother, we decided to check our numbers. I can’t believe we have actually won, we are all over the moon!”
Almost all Lotto jackpot winners double check their numbers to make certain that they have won, and a few triple check them. Mark – who runs a festival coach transport business – went even further…
“I called the Lottery Line five times just to check that the six numbers on our ticket matched the numbers drawn,” Mark admitted. “When it finally sunk in, I spoke to Camelot to confirm we had the winning ticket, and for safe keeping we put it in a metal tin – just in case!”
Assuming that the trio of lottery winners split their £6,722,094 Lotto win equally, Mark, Ian and Les are now £2,240,698 richer, so what do they intend to spend their cash on?
“Holly and I will now do what we have always wanted to do – buy a retirement home in Corfu,” Mark said. “We won’t move house but maybe get a new car – something practical such as a 4X4 to help us with the festival company – we need something which can go through fields easily!”
Ian is married to Debbie, and their early plans include buying a new home. “It is a double celebration for them as it was their anniversary on 25 October as well,” Mark said. “They have two young children and need more growing space, so a new home
would be perfect”.
We congratulate Mark, Ian and Les on their win and wish good luck to anyone who choose to play lottery games this week. You can buy lottery tickets online today for the £10.4 million Lotto double rollover jackpot game on Wednesday 3 November and also for the £25 million EuroMillions rollover jackpot game on Friday 5 November. Keep your fingers crossed and Bonfire Night might go with a much bigger bang that you’re currently expecting!
